CSAV Participates in Fair for Vocational and Technical Education Day

The virtual reality simulators exhibited by the shipping company were a great success at the fair, which brought together different organizations and young students.

As part of events to commemorate the 80th anniversary of General Directorate of Vocational Education and Vocational and Technical Education Day, which is celebrated in August, the initiative Futuro Técnico Valparaíso (Valparaíso Technical Future) led by Regional Officials from the Ministry of Education from the Valparaíso Region, Fundación Chile and the Luksic Foundation, held four educational fairs in several districts. San Antonio was no exception and Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV) was present at the activity in Plaza Llolleo.

At the event, which aimed to highlight this form of education and its impact on the country’s development, several young people lined up at the CSAV stand to try out the virtual reality simulators that the company will install at the Instituto Comercial Marítimo Pacífico Sur (INCO), a project that aims to contribute to improving the education of young people studying Port Operations and Administration with a mention in logistics.

The “Port Room” project consists of installing virtual reality simulators and implementing an educational training program. CSAV will provide the infrastructure and technological equipment necessary for INCO’s 11th and 12th grade high school students to learn and develop as technical professionals.

“At CSAV we are committed to the educational development of young people and we believe it is very important to promote professional technical careers, as they are essential for the functioning of society. We want to provide them with the necessary tools so that young people can make their way and learn in an environment that is conducive to proper learning,” says Yolanda Videla, CSAV’s Project Coordinator.
