Vapores shareholders approve more than US$1.140 billion in dividends

The Company’s board was re-elected, confirming Francisco Pérez Mackenna as chairman.

Santiago, April 26, 2024 | At the annual general meeting of Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV), its shareholders unanimously approved the board’s dividend proposal to distribute dividends totaling US$860 million and EUR$265 million (approximately US$1.144 billion at today’s exchange rate), to be paid in Chilean pesos on May 24.

The Company’s chairman, Francisco Pérez Mackenna, positively assessed the 2023 fiscal year, which he described as a “period of normalization” after the pandemic. “Thanks to our good results, we have delivered historic dividends to our shareholders. Today we face new challenges: low volume growth, new vessels and rates seeking a new balance with a very volatile geopolitical context that will undoubtedly influence our industry,” he said.

At the annual general meeting, the members of the board of directors were elected for the next three years: Hernán Büchi, José De Gregorio, Cristóbal Eyzaguirre, Pablo Granifo, Karen Paz, Francisco Pérez Mackenna and Felipe Ureta as an independent director.

After the AGM, the board met to confirm Francisco Pérez Mackenna as chairman and Pablo Granifo as vice-chairman.

In addition, Felipe Ureta (chair), Cristóbal Eyzaguirre and José De Gregorio were appointed to the Directors’ Committee.
